el Ford Maultier v1939 was a half-track truck used by the Germans during World War II. It was based on the Ford VS 3000 S/S truck, which had a V8 engine and a payload of 3 tons. The Maultier (meaning “mule”) was designed to improve the mobility and traction of the truck on rough terrain and snow. The rear wheels were replaced by a tracked suspension system, while the front wheels remained unchanged. The Ford Maultier v1939 was mainly used for transport and supply duties, but some were also equipped with anti-aircraft guns or rocket launchers. The Ford Maultier v1939 was one of several models of half-track trucks produced by the Germans, along with the Opel Maultier and the Mercedes-Benz Maultier.
