USS Lionfish SS-298 was a Balao-class submarine that served in the United States Navy during World War II. She was launched on 7 November 1943 and commissioned on 1 November 1944. She conducted six war patrols in the Pacific Ocean, sinking nine Japanese ships and damaging four others. She also rescued 21 Allied airmen who had been shot down by enemy aircraft. She received four battle stars for her service and was decommissioned on 16 February 1946. She was later transferred to the Turkish Navy in 1973 and renamed TCG Saldıray. She served until 1983 and was returned to the United States. She is now a museum ship at the Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts, where she is open to the public for tours and education.
