More info:

The XM-8 Armored Gun System was a light tank project developed by the United States Army in the 1990s. It was intended to replace the aging M551 Sheridan tanks in the airborne and light infantry units. The XM-8 featured a 105 mm cannon, a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun, and a 12.7 mm machine gun on the turret roof. The vehicle had a crew of three and was designed to be air-droppable by C-130 and C-17 transport planes. The XM-8 had a modular armor system that could be tailored to different threat levels and missions. The XM-8 was canceled in 1997 due to budget cuts and changing requirements.
