Den Panhard ERC 90 (Engin à Roues, Canon de 90 mm) is a French six-wheeled armoured all-terrain vehicle which is highly mobile and amphibious with an option of being NBC-proof. While various models were tested, only two versions of the ERC were developed and produced: the Lynx and the Sagaie. The main difference between the two versions is the type of turret and 90 mm gun fitted. Sagaie is French for assegai, a type of African spear.

Mer info:

The Panhard ERC 90 Sagaie is a French six-wheeled armored reconnaissance vehicle that was developed in the late 1970s. It is based on the Panhard ERC 90 Lynx, but features a more powerful 90 mm cannon and improved mobility. The name Sagaie means assegai, a type of African spear.
The ERC 90 Sagaie was designed to meet the requirements of the French Army for a light and fast vehicle that could operate in various terrains, especially in Africa. The vehicle has a modular design that allows it to be fitted with different turrets and weapons systems. The main armament is a GIAT TS 90 turret with a F4 90 mm low-pressure gun that can fire high-explosive, armor-piercing and smoke rounds. The secondary armament consists of a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun and two four-barrel smoke grenade launchers.
The ERC 90 Sagaie has a crew of three: a driver, a commander and a gunner. The driver sits in the front left of the hull, while the commander and the gunner are located in the turret. The vehicle has an all-welded steel armor that provides protection against small arms fire and shell splinters. The vehicle is also equipped with a central tire inflation system, a fire suppression system, a nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection system and night vision devices.
The ERC 90 Sagaie has a six-wheel drive configuration that gives it good mobility and agility. The vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 95 km/h on road and 60 km/h off-road. It can also swim across water obstacles at a speed of 9 km/h with minimal preparation. The vehicle has a range of 900 km on road and 600 km off-road.
The ERC 90 Sagaie was first introduced in 1980 and entered service with the French Army in 1984. It was mainly used for reconnaissance, fire support and anti-tank missions. The vehicle saw combat in several conflicts, such as the Gulf War, the Somali Civil War, the Rwandan Civil War and the Ivorian Civil War. The vehicle is still in service with the French Army and several other countries, such as Argentina, Chad, Djibouti, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Mexico and Nigeria.
