The FV106 Samson is a British armored recovery vehicle that is based on the CVR(T) platform. It is designed to provide recovery and repair support for light tracked vehicles in combat situations. The FV106 Samson has a crew of three: a commander, a driver and a recovery mechanic. The vehicle is equipped with a hydraulic crane that can lift up to 3.6 tonnes, a winch that can pull up to 10 tonnes, and various tools and spare parts. The FV106 Samson can also tow disabled vehicles using a tow bar or a tow rope. The vehicle is armed with a 7.62 mm machine gun for self-defense. The FV106 Samson has been in service with the British Army since the late 1970s and has seen action in various conflicts, such as the Falklands War, the Gulf War and the Iraq War.
