A 152 mm gun M1935 (Br-2) (Russian: 152-мм пушка обр. 1935 г. (Бр-2)) was a Soviet 152.4 mm heavy gun, produced in limited numbers by the Barrikady Plant in Stalingrad in the late 1930s. The most unusual feature of the gun was its tracked carriage, shared by a number of Soviet heavy artillery systems of the interwar period. Despite a number of drawbacks, most notably limited mobility and short service life of the barrel, the weapon was employed throughout the German-Soviet War; an upgraded variant with wheeled carriage, Br-2M, remained in service at least until the 1970s.

További információ:

The 152mm BR-2 Gun Mod.1935 was a Soviet heavy artillery piece that was developed in the 1930s and used in World War II. It was designed as a siege gun for breaking through fortified enemy positions and destroying bunkers, pillboxes, and other concrete structures. The gun had a caliber of 152.4mm and a barrel length of 32.5 calibers. It fired a high-explosive shell weighing 48.78kg with a muzzle velocity of 655m/s and a maximum range of 24.6km.
The gun was mounted on a wheeled carriage that could be towed by a tractor or a truck. The gun crew consisted of 15 men and the rate of fire was one round per minute. The gun was also capable of firing armor-piercing shells that could penetrate up to 203mm of steel at 500m distance. The BR-2 was used by the Red Army in the battles of Moscow, Stalingrad, Kursk, Berlin, and other major engagements of the Eastern Front. It was also supplied to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army during the Chinese Civil War. The BR-2 was a powerful and effective weapon, but it had some drawbacks such as its heavy weight, long setup time, high recoil, and limited mobility.
