Galerie de photos d’un Tom long de 155mm, The 155 mm Long Tom was a 155 millimeter caliber field gun developed and used by the United States mililtary. It was produced in M1 and M2 variants (later known as the M59). Developed to replace the Canon de 155mm GPF, the gun was deployed as a heavy field weapon during World War II and the Korean War, and also classed as secondary armament for seacoast defense. The gun could fire a 45.36 kg (100 lb) shell to a maximum range of 22 km (13.7 mi), with an estimated accuracy life of 1,500 rounds.

Le Long Tom américain de 155 mm était un puissant canon de campagne qui a servi dans divers conflits de la Seconde Guerre mondiale à la guerre d’indépendance croate. Il avait un long canon de 45 calibres et une portée maximale de plus de 23 kilomètres. Il pouvait tirer différents types d’obus, y compris des explosifs, des perforants et de la fumée. Le Long Tom était monté sur un chariot à piste fendue qui pouvait être remorqué par un camion ou un tracteur. Il avait un équipage de 8 à 10 hommes et une cadence de tir d’un coup toutes les deux minutes. Le Long Tom a été surnommé d’après un canon antérieur de la guerre civile du même calibre.
